Huntley V. Watson

Huntley V. Watson attended Jamaica College between 1975 and 1982. Whilst at school he served as a member of the Prefect body, Deputy Editor of the School Magazine and Captain of the Badminton team.

After completing 6th Form he matriculated into the Faculty of Law at the University of the West Indies where he completed studies leading to the award of the Degree, Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 1985. Mr. Watson was very active in University student administration and captained the Faculties soccer team.

Mr. Watson continued his studies in the law by enrolling in a course of studies at the Norman Manley Law School which led to his being awarded the Certificate of Legal Education. He remained active in student government and was elected president of the Students Association. In his final year he was a co-awardee of the Chairman’s award for excellent performance in Status Rights and Obligations of the legal profession.

Mr. Watson is also a CIDA scholar (1991). He took up his scholarship at York University in Toronto, Canada where he read for the degree Master in Business Administration with a specialization in International Business and a minor in corporate governance.

Mr. Watson who was admitted to practice at the Jamaican Bar in 1987 has enjoyed a wide and diverse career at the Bar where he has practiced in association with private law firms and as a member of the corporate banking team at Citibank NA. He currently practices in partnership with the Kingston law firm of Watson & Watson.

Mr. Watson has sat on the civil litigation committee of the Jamaican Bar Association and currently sits on the Board of the Jamaica College Foundation. He is married, with three children, and resides in Saint Andrew, Jamaica.
